Videos: Leon T. Pearl, Just Blaze & Baauer

The next playlist should be up in a day or so, so here's Leon T. Pearl to make the wait more interesting. When I first saw this about a week ago, I didn't really know what to do with it. The video is ridiculous and so is, to a lesser extent (I guess?), the song itself, but it's catchy and weirdly awesome. Definitely the most produce I've seen in a music video (well, except for this). So check it out:

Also, director Nabil (the guy behind these great music videos) came out with an intense video a week ago for Just Blaze & Baauer's "Higher" that pits a band of village children against some drunken adults. Definitely check it out below, as well as the rest of Nabil's work (via the above link) if you haven't.

August 2013: When All Beauty is Silent

"Hunger" is not only one of my favorite tracks on the playlist, but it's also free! Follow the link below and you can download it from the SoundCloud page. "Body Music," the title track from AlunaGeorge's long-awaited debut, and "The Wire," HAIM's new single, are both great tracks from two groups that have been putting out consistently great music. The Bamboos cover of James Blake's "The Wilhelm Scream" is also surprisingly good. I was skeptical when I first saw it, but the funky, gospel-y take on Blake's bleak original is really great. "Mercy" is the first TVotR music since bassist Gerard Smith died and definitely worth a listen. Finally, "Until Your Father Sleeps" is a wonderfully sleepy track from Slow Machete, a project that samples Haitian choirs and gives some proceeds to "support education and agriculture programs in Cap Haiten."
