A few days ago, Active Child (AKA Pat Grossi) posted a 2Pac-sampling track on SoundCloud with this explanation:

"Randomly came across an instrumental of one of favorite posthumous 2Pac releases recently. It instantly transported me back to my high school days when I would make mixes for my commute to and from school. As I sat and reminisced I figured i’d drop the instrumental into ableton and have a sing over it. That sing slowly transformed into a rough song of sorts that I thought I’d share with you guys today. Not exactly original music, but something to listen to none the less. Hope you enjoy much love Pat xx"

David Lynch, the enigmatic film director behind Blue Velvet and the Twin Peaks cult television series, started making music almost as bizarre and unsettling as his films with his debut album, Crazy Clown Time, in 2011. His second album, The Big Dream, was released this past July. Listen to Bastille's fabulous male-choir-filled remix of "Are You Sure," from The Big Dream, below.

Anyway, "Cotton Candy" is a great track from PAPA's equally great album Tender Madness, which can be streamed via the link below. All of these songs are worth listening to: "Alpha Romeo" is a bouncy, incredibly catchy pop tune; "Holding On For Life" is from Broken Bells's upcoming album After the Disco, due out January 14; just look at all the artists collaborating for the funked-out "Together;" watch Francis's silly, soul-warming dance in the video for "Like A Dream" below; both remixes of "Best Be Believing" are great and drastically different, with Ta-ku obliterating the original––in a good way; ScHoolboy Q samples Chromatics's "Cherry" in his new song for NBA 2K14; the list goes on. "Ada," with its primal urgency, it's "I can see for miles," is a personal favorite. Action Bronson saying "I look European" at the beginning of "In the City" also cracks me up every time.
