The Daily(?) Dose: Playlist: While I Was Away

The Daily Dose: New music every day. It's good for you.

I would stop calling it the Daily Dose if it weren't almost a running joke. Still, apologies for not being consistent. I've assembled a small SoundCloud playlist of 8 songs from the past week to make up for it:
I. "Busy Earnin'," JUNGLE.'s new song, is more upbeat but just as fabulously funky as their earlier tracks "The Heat" and "Lucky I Got What I Want," Good luck getting the opening horn line out of your head.

II. Architecture in Helsinki's new track is characteristically bouncy and cheerful. Like some lost hit blazing out of the 80s, this groove is a must for that miserable drive to work or that upcoming birthday party.

III. SAINT PEPSI keeps churning out Mario Kart Dream Trap with "Baby," from the upcoming EP Gin City

IV. "Charity" is more great Arthur Beatrice from Working Out, which you can stream in full here.

V. Ryan Hemsworth takes on Wave Racer's glittery "Streamers" that in some ways sounds like SAINT PEPSI's signature brand of Mario Kart Dream Trap.

VI. The beginning of Mr Little Jeans's new track is dark and deep––even ominously so. And while it never loses its smoky dissonance, it's so smooth and surprisingly catchy.

VII. "Glass" is from Young & Sick's upcoming self-titled LP due out in April. From the sparse synth groove of the beginning, the song's lyrics aren't exactly cheerful: "'Cause there's a poison in my glass and it's makin' it hard to feel––anythaaang." The lyrics, however, perfectly compliment the off-kilter, scatterbrained beat.

VIII. Finally, "Magic Rain" is probably best described by its SoundCloud tags: Esoteric Bluewave, Monsoon Season, Space House Pop, Flight-Musiq, Idyllic, Beachhaze. Press play, and these nonsense genres will make (slightly) more sense.
