The Daily Dose: Big Boi - "CPU 2.0 (feat. Phantogram & Sade)"

The Daily Dose: New music every day. It's good for you.

Amid extensive touring with a newly-reunited OutKast and talk of dropping another album this year, Big Boi has shared a reworking of "CPU" from 2012's Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. Where Phantogram's vocals and the dazed beat of the original suggests paranoia in an electronic world, this mashup with Sade's "Nothing Can Come Between Us" is smoother, lighter, and far less urgent. It's also great and available as a free download. Check it out below.

Playlist: January 2014: Maybe I'm Chasing Time

Here it is, the erratic quasi-cumulative playlist that comes out 1-3 times every month! You'll find plenty of tracks from The Daily Dose, but also other stuff from the past few weeks that didn't make it for whatever reason. For non-Dose tracks, definitely check out the derevolutions' "Pascualita," Ella Eyre's "All About You," and the enchanting Swedish pop "Om Vi Faller." Though I hated WU LYF (World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation, remember them?), ex-bassist Tom McClung's "A Selfish Man" is definitely worth checking out as well. The Daily Dose: LAW - "Haters"

The Daily Dose: New music every day. It's good for you.

Edinburgh-based singer Lauren Holt a.k.a. LAW has garnered attention and praise in the past couple days throughout the cyberplace/blogosphere for "Haters," and for good reason––it's absolutely captivating. The shuffles and claps, the warbling vocals, the soulful climb, and even the subtle harmonica make it a track not to miss. Look out for her upcoming EP, Haters and Gangsters, out on February 3. Check it out below.

The Daily Dose: Kyla La Grange - "Cut Your Teeth (Kygo Remix)"

The Daily Dose: New music every day. It's good for you.

Kyla La Grange's fabulous "Cut Your Teeth," released earlier this month, has just received a superb remix from Kygo. The 22-year-old Norwegian producer has stretched the song from three minutes to six, making it more danceable but not losing the haunting power of La Grange's lyrics: "You cut your teeth on the lack of answers / Come back home, but it don't feel the same." Grab a free download on Kygo's Facebook page via the SoundCloud link below.
