Playlist: The Weekly What 4•6•14

The Weekly What: Because playlists are nice too.

Here you go, eight tracks to help your transition into next week.

I. NONONO's infectiously uplifting "Pumpin Blood" gets yet another remix (this one's my favorite), this time by NYC duo The Knocks. Funky and wonky, it's a a fabulously groovy take on a great song.

II. Kyogi (not to be confused with Kygo) is a 16-year-old producer who has a great creative motto: "I make music I'd dance to." He's certainly not the only one who'd dance to his new take on Arkon Fly's "Through the Fire."

III. Swedish-born Pablo Nouvelle and Tulliae team up for "Poison," the first track from Nouvelle's upcoming EP. A soothing blend of pulsing bass, handclaps, and cooing vocals, it's a great addition to the ever-growing amount of low-key Kidnap Kid-esque house.

IV. Little is known about dd elle but, like "Kind 2 U" from earlier this year, "love me only" is languid, mysterious, and hypnotic.

V. Young & Sick, the music/art project of Dutch artist Nick Van Hofwegen, released "Heartache Fetish," the second single ("Glass" was the debut single) from the upcoming LP (out April 8 on Harvest Records).

VI. LA-based duo SIREN ., comprised of Kat Ostenberg and Skyler Stonestreet, is relatively new to the scene, with one sound on SoundCloud and a typical mysteriously artsy website.

VII. Nottingham-based producer Lone (real name: Matt Cutler) is back with "2 is 8," a characteristically glitchy track.

VIII. Australian musician EastOfficial has released "Old Age," a thumping track whose smattering of harpsichord, soaring vocals, thumping bass, and warbling voice create an interestingly ambiguous vibe, especially when paired with the lyrics: "I'd die of old age if I could."
